The Village of Mannsville is looking for a Water Plant Assistant!

Overview of Role

  • This position is part time, approximately 7-10 hours a week.
  • Additional hours up to 20 a week for additional duties are allowed as needed.
  • Holidays and weekends required for daily water tests.
  • Preferably, applicants may have C water operator license or be willing to take the course to get licensed at a later date. The village covers all licensing expenses.

Responsibilities

  • Daily water checks
  • Daily logs
  • Daily water samples
  • Marking water lines for U-Digs
  • Maintain chlorination systems
  • Replace bag filters
  • Correspond with the EPA and DOH
  • Office paperwork and filing
  • Assist Water Operator with hydrant maintenance
  • Assist Water Operator with water meter installation
  • Assist Water Operator with quarterly meter readings
  • Assist Water Operator with distribution maintenance

Brush Pickup

Lawn/Garden Debris and Tree/Brush Trimming Pick Up Policy

Beginning in spring and continuing through the summer until fall, Village crews will conduct a once a day pick up program for brush, tree trimmings and lawn/garden debris (i.e., leaves, grass clippings, flower, and vegetable garden residue.  (Monday-Friday)

Lawn/Garden Debris (please use CLEAR BAGS)

  1. Plastic bags will be loaded only to the point that each can be conveniently handled by one person.
  2. The bags must be placed between the sidewalk and the street.
  3. If leaves are bagged, they must be separated from other debris, and contain no other debris of extraneous items.
  4. Any bag or bags determined by work crew personnel to be in violation of any of the above three conditions will be left at curb side.

 Brush/Tree Trimmings

  1. Brush & tree trimmings will not be larger than 12 inches in diameter.
  2. Brush and tree trimmings will be cut no longer than 6 feet in length.
  3. Brush, tree trimmings and natural Christmas Trees to be picked up will be neatly piled on the lawn between the street and the sidewalk or at the edge of street where no sidewalk exist.

The following items must be included in the lawn debris not with the brush & tree trimmings. Grapevines, bundles or piles of small twigs, rose/berry brush, canes, etc., any branches 1/2 inch to 12 inches in diameter.

Items must be placed at the curb by 7AM. The Village crew will make only one trip per street.

VILLAGE LAWN DEBRIS & LEAF PICKUP REMINDER

Lawn/Garden Debris (CLEAR SEE-THRU BAGS ONLY)

  1. Clear Plastic bags will be loaded only to the point that each can be conveniently handled by one person.
  2. The bags must be placed between the sidewalk and street.
  3. All leaves MUST be bagged, MUST be separated from other debris and MUST NOT contain any other debris.
  4. Any bag or bags determined by the work crew to be in violation of ANY of the above conditions will be left at the curb side.

Tree/Brush Trimmings

  1. Brush & tree trimmings will not be larger than 12 inches in diameter.
  2. Brush and tree trimmings will be cut no longer than 6 feet in length.
  3. Brush, tree trimmings and natural Christmas Trees to be picked up will be neatly piled on the lawn between the street and the sidewalk or the edge of the street where NO sidewalk exists.

The following items MUST BE INCLUDED IN THE LAWN DEBRIS not with the brush & tree trimmings. 

  1. Grapevines
  2. Bundles or piles of small twigs
  3. Rose/berry brush
  4. Canes
  5. Any Branches less than ½ inch and no more than 12 inches in diameter.

Items Must be placed at the curb by 7 A.M. The village crew will make ONLY one trip per street daily.

All leaves must be bagged in clear see-thru plastic bags. We will no longer pick up leaves that are not bagged properly.

Tree trimmings are defined as either dead limbs that are trimmed off of trees by residents or limbs that are removed by mother nature and natural causes.

The village is NOT responsible for the removal of FULL size trees and the said tree limbs when the resident/owner removed or hired the tree to be removed by a third party.
